Mercedes me aims to present the Benz brand to life in a relaxed and informal setting. With key locations like Beijing, Shanghai and Melbourne, the stores have a strong consistent identity but do not fail to take local context into account.
“Honoring the past, studying the present and anticipating the future” – is logic that drove the design intent for this unique dining experience. A space where heritage and authenticity are equally met with creativity and innovation. The rich local context of Chengdu provided a gamut of opportunities and materials to layer and weave that formed the bigger picture of what it turned out to be. The design appeals to both its old and new customers, focusing on the lifestyle customers without alienating its already well established progressive mainstream consumers.
The iconic façade is anchored by a bespoke 8m long hammered copper hood that sits on top of the brewery vats. With its own in-house craft brewery and state of the art kitchen, Mercedes me Chengdu combines the best of the culinary and design worlds in one holistic space.
